1. Phone number & verification

What we collect: Your mobile phone number, submitted during our OTP-verified onboarding process.

Why: To create your account and verify your identity using OTP. This ensures that all users on the platform are real, protecting you from fraud.

2. Photos, videos & audio

What we collect: 30-second video resumes and profile photos.

Why: Employers need to see your skills and hear your communication style to hire you. We request Camera and Microphone permissions to record these profiles. We never record anything without your explicit action.

3. Location data

What we collect: Your device's approximate location (District / Pin code).

Why: To show you hyper-local jobs that are actually viable for your daily public transit commute. We do not track your live movements.

4. Who sees your data?

To prevent data theft, your profile is completely hidden from public search.

• Employers: Only see your video and details after you actively apply to their specific job.
• Niyojam team: Niyojam team members may access limited profile details strictly to provide platform support and assist with account-related queries.

5. Third-party service providers

To operate the platform, we share limited data with the following categories of service providers, each contractually bound to protect your data:

• Cloud hosting: Your data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud servers.
• SMS & OTP services: Your phone number is shared with our OTP verification provider solely for authentication.
• Media storage: Video resumes and photos are stored on secure content delivery servers.

We do not share your personal data with any entity beyond what is necessary to operate the platform.

6. Your rights under DPDP Act 2023

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights:

• Right to access: You can request a summary of your personal data and how it is being processed.
• Right to correction: You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data (see Section 8 below).
• Right to nominate: You can nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of your death or incapacity.

7. Data safety & storage

Your data is stored on highly secure, encrypted third-party cloud servers. We utilise industry-standard security protocols to protect your information. To protect your privacy, video resumes attached to expired or fulfilled jobs are automatically permanently deleted from our active media servers.

8. Delete your account & data

You have full control over your personal information. You can request account deletion from within the app settings or by contacting us.

Your account will enter a 30-day deactivation period. During this time, you can log back in to reactivate your account. At the end of 30 days, your profile, phone number, photos, videos, and applications will be permanently deleted from our active servers.

*Please note: In cases of active platform disputes or safety investigations, certain minimal identification data may be temporarily retained in accordance with applicable laws to prevent network fraud.
